Related to online Board Self-Assessment

Dear Ms Munro,

This letter is to thank you and compliment you on all the help you gave us in our Board self-evaluation project. From start to finish, including current activities that are being guided by survey results, your work made a great deal of positive difference to us.

The survey form itself was most appropriate, including the range of questions addressing basic organizational and governance functions. The format worked really well, as demonstrated by the high response and completion rates.

Your report was well received, in that your overall conclusions were solidly supported and the helpful tone of your comments throughout was a real plus. Your extra effort in analyzing responses to each question and introducing your own experience with governance issues were particularly appreciated.

Your report has been a topic of discussion in more than one Board meeting and we are incorporating the results into preparation for a major Board development session in March………..

Sincerely
L.B.

For my feedback  -  I found that you are very responsive, accessible and easy to work with.  You provided a comprehensive survey and your patience and feedback to the Board is also comprehensive and communicated with respect and sensitivity.   Your work on our behalf is greatly valued and appreciated.

The Directors were very happy with the electronic method of doing the survey and with your report to them.  They would like to do a self-evaluation once every two years.

This is a great piece of work you put together. It certainly helped me visually to “get” the Carver model at a different level, and reminded me of some parts of it that I don’t always keep in mind.”

Change Management

Dear Ms Munro
On behalf of Council I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to you for your dedication during the past several months. You stepped into a difficult situation as acting Executive Director, yet the transition went off very smoothly. I attribute this to your unique management style. Without your people skills, the daunting task of setting things right would surely have been more painful for the community. It is an accomplishment of which you can be rightfully proud.

Dear Carol
……..In the last 7 months that you have worked with us…….. your vision, efficiency, dedication, loyalty and determination prevailed and steered us through a difficult transition period. The staff and Board owe you a debt of gratitude. In addition to your daily workload, you successfully introduced the Carver Governance model, which was adopted by the Board. This model has led us in a new direction and with your guidance, we look forward to a strong Board and an excellent working environment for staff. ……..Your tenure will remain an integral part of the positive change for our organization.
